Unfortunately last week’s post didn’t happen – not sure where the time went!
Some of the key points from the last 2 weeks:
On Monday 1st July, I attended a briefing on Children’s Services at Chicksands, and the LLTC Personnel Sub-committee in the evening.
On Tuesday 2nd July, I attended a meeting looking at improving adult employment skills, and in the evening I visited TACTIC.
On Wednesday 3rd July, I attended a conference with employment skills providers.
In the afternoon I attended the funeral of former town Councillor and Mayor, George Rolfe. George had served the town for many years, until 2015 when he stood down to care for his wife.
In the evening I attended the LLTC Planning Committee.
On Thursday 4th I attended the Councillors – Officers meeting at LLTC.
On Friday 5th I attended a meeting at Chicksands to look at adult social care – looking at the provision for the elderly and disabled.
And on to last week:
On Tuesday 9th July I attended the Children’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee at Chicksands, which included an update on short breaks for children with disabilities and various school expansions in Houghton Regis and Biggleswade. We also had an update on CBC taking over the running of Children’s Centres across the county.
On Friday 12th I had a briefing on Children’s Services.
And on Saturday I was on Streetwatch in the town centre and around the carnival.
Looking ahead to next week, I will be attending the Community Safety meeting at LLTC on Monday evening.
On Tuesday I have a briefing in advance of the Corporate Parenting Panel, and on Thursday it is CBC Full Council.
