Having been half-term week, it has been quiet with less meetings. However, I have played a lot of ‘Cluedo’ and I have become an expert on ‘flags of the world’!
On Tuesday I had a conference call with the Director of Children’s Services for my weekly briefing.
On Thursday I Co-chaired the Corporate Parenting Panel along with one of our looked after children – they gave an update on some of their activities, including a report on a meeting some of the children had with Children and Families Minister Nadim Zahawi MP. We also had the annual report on Fostering and Adoption services.
On Saturday morning we had our monthly Councillor’s Surgery – with Cllr David Bowater (Cllr Berry was unable to attend as he is currently in Luton and Dunstable hospital – wishing you a speedy recovery Ray!)
And over Saturday lunchtime I was on Streetwatch patrol with Phil Deeley and Misha the dog, and Graham Quick.
Looking ahead to the coming week, I will be chairing the LLTC Cultural and Economic Committee (Monday 7.30pm at The White House).
I will be attending various Children’s Services briefings at CBC, and a briefing on the Police and Crime Panel.
On Thursday evening – 7.30pm at The White House – it is the joint LLTC / CBC Partnership Committee.
And on Saturday, don’t forget it is the Truck Convoy between 11.00am and 12.00pm – travelling along Hockliffe Road, Leston Road, Billington Road and on to the show at Billington. For those who missed it last year, you don’t have to be a truck enthusiastic to be impressed by the spectacle of this event – although if you have little ones who don’t like loud noises a pair of ear defenders might not be a bad idea. This is a charity event – see https://www.facebook.com/groups/610553005753304/ for further information.
