This week – as is the norm after elections – has been quiet with no formal meetings. After the 6 weeks of the election campaign, it has been a chance to catch up with some outstanding case work, and to meet with colleagues to plan for the year ahead. If you are are waiting to hear from me, I haven’t forgotten you and I will try and reply in the next few days.
On Thursday evening I attended an induction meeting at the Town Council – despite being a Town Councillor for 8 years, it is good to meet new colleagues and revisit the Town Council’s priorities for the next Council.
Today (Saturday) I was back out with Streetwatch, although the town centre was quite quiet due to the weather.
I am a Councillor on Leighton Linslade Town Council and Central Bedfordshire Council. I am Deputy Leader of LLTC, and Deputy Executive Member for Familes, Education and Children.
On LLTC I chair the Cultural and Economic Committee, and the Personnel Committee.
On CBC I chair the Coporate Parenting Panel, and sit on both the Fostering and Adoption panels.
I have a particular interest in children with disabilities and special needs, and disadvantaged young people. As the mum of a son with ASD I believe I can use my first-hand experience to help my residents and help drive Council policy in this area.
