Week ending 23rd Feburary 2019
It has been another busy week:
On Monday I spent some time delivering our latest ‘In touch’ to residents.
On Tuesday I joined the Streetwatch patrol in the town centre.
On Wednesday I attended a meeting at LLTC to discuss Astral Park. In the evening, I chaired the Town Council Planning Committee.
I made a brief visit to the newly opened Marks and Spencer Food Hall. Judging by the number of people in the store, this will be a great asset to the town.
On Thursday evening I attended Full Council at Chicksands (CBC) – the main item was the Council’s Budget for 2019/20. The budget was approved with just a 1% increase in the Council’s precept.
On Friday I attended another meeting at Chicksands (CBC) with the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) to discuss the provision of healthcare in Leighton Buzzard.
On Saturday I spend some time meeting residents in Danes Way, and then spent 2 hours on Streetwatch Patrol in the town centre. There was a visible police presence in the town, supporting town centre shops and businesses.
Inbetween these meetings, I spent time working on residents’ casework.
